Siletz Tribal Housing Department's Mission Statement

With funds provided by the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act and other resources, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI) will continue the operation of a housing program whose overall mission will be to ensure that low income Siletz Tribal Members have the opportunity to obtain housing that meets his/her needs, is affordable, and provides a safe, healthy living environment.

Emergency Housing & Rental Assistance

Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA)

The applicant must be:

  • Within the NAHASDA Income guidelines;
  • Homeless - Having no home or haven;
  • Hidden Homeless - Transitioning from temporary housing to permanent housing (i.e. living with someone temporarily and needing their own residence);
  • Not homeless, however, have been served a 72-hour notice due to non-payment of rent - or- facing foreclosure.
Assistance cannot exceed $1,000.00 and participants may only access this program once every two years. This program serves CTSI tribal members anywhere in the United States of America. There is no waiting list for this program. Funding is a biannual cycle (January 1/July 1) and is based on a first-come, first-served basis. When funding for each cycle has been exhausted, applications will no longer be accepted. Entire application must be complete before assistance can be provided. Applications are available through the Siletz Tribal Housing Department, the CTSI website and all area offices. 

 

Rental Assistance Program (RAP)

Previously known as the Section(8) Voucher Program, the Rental Assistance Program serves CTSI tribal members who live in the tribe's eleven- (11) county service area. The Rental Assistance Program provides rental subsidies for individuals and families based on household size and who meet the NAHASDA income guidelines. Tribal members are eligible for one of two programs:

Tribal Temporary Housing Assistance Program (TTHAP) - This program provides rental assistance for up to four (4) years while the participant actively works towards self-sufficiency; or

Tribal disabled and/or elders program - This program is longer-term for Siletz Tribal Member disabled and/or Elder households only.
