Indian Child Welfare Mission Statement:
To protect the best interest of Indian Children and to promote the stability and security of Indian tribes and families by implementing the requirements established in the Siletz Tribal Juvenile Code, Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and tribal customs, laws and policy.

The Indian Child Welfare department acts in the best interest of the CHILD. They advocate for Tribal children in State and Tribal Court Child Welfare jurisdictions. Please contact the ICW Program if you know of a Siletz child who has suffered abuse or neglect, or whose family may be at risk and needs services to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The Indian Child Welfare Program needs good homes for temporary and long-term placement for Siletz Tribal children. Homes must be substance abuse, smoke and violence free. Foster homes and/or relative placements are needed both locally in Siletz and outside Siletz, including out of state.

If you are aware of a child that is being abused or neglected call your local child welfare office or the Indian Child Welfare department at (800) 922-1399 ext. 1272.
