This position provides clerical and administrative support services to Central Administration and other tribal departments as needed.
High school diploma or GED and one year clerical experience in a general office setting -OR- an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Knowledge of: Correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar, preferred. Experience in: Using Microsoft Office including word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs preferred. Ability to: Provide clerical support to the administration department by typing, filing, receptionist activities and other duties as required. Operate office equipment. Relate to Tribal Council, Tribal Members, and the general public. Follow directions and complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines without constant supervision. Other: Must be able to travel occasionally outside of the Siletz area.
Provides routine clerical support services including, typing, copying, faxing, filing, purchasing, and answering telephones. Personally greets visitors and directs to appropriate person or department.
Receives, sorts, and distributes daily mail and correspondence. Prepares outgoing mail, using postage-metering machine. May answer departmental telephones, supplying information to callers, take messages, and announce visitors. May assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements. Provides back up support to the Receptionist and Enrollment Clerk positions. May participate in training programs, attend staff meetings, and share general office housekeeping duties with other staff members. May perform variety of other duties as assigned. Scans documents into Laserfiche for Central. Laserfiche Administrator duties: Creates user profiles, Establishes security, Provides training for all users, Troubleshoots system errors, and Maintains records management section.
All new employees will serve a six-month probationary period to enable the General Manger to determine their suitability as a tribal employee. After the six-month probation the employee will be evaluated of his/her performance and at that time it will be decided if the employee is entitled to a regular employee status.
