Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Siletz Tribal Human Resources Department to obtain, develop and train the most important resource the Tribe has – human resources. This department will provide service to Tribal programs and employment applicants in an efficient, respectful and helpful manner. It will assist employees with skill development to ensure quality services to Tribal members and personal growth of Tribal employees.

Please note that applications at this time cannot be emailed through the CTSI website.  Applications may be emailed directly to the human resources email.  Applications must be complete and contain the applicant’s signature.    If you wish to apply for multiple positions with The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, please submit a new completed application for each position desired.

Incomplete applications, late applications, and resumes without an application will be returned.  CTSI requires that a Tribal application be completed.  Resumes will not be accepted in place of a completed application.

The grant accountant performs the accounting and financial service functions for programs funded by grants or special revenue. These functions include: assisting with preparation of financial projections and budgets, actual v. budget reporting, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance with private, local, state and federal fund requirements, billing and collections, journal entries, and financial grant reporting. The position will also answer inquiries from external auditors and federal, state and local agencies concerning grant information and will effectively communicate financial issues to employees, administrators, auditors, and granting agencies.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field with at least one year of experience in general accounting or grant fiscal management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fund accounting experience is preferred. Experience processing complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with legal or contractual requirements, recordkeeping and preparation of monthly, quarterly and/ or annual reporting preferred. Ability to prioritize and self-direct, analyze situations, identify situations where appropriate to make decisions. Working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to area of responsibility. Knowledge of principles and practices of governmental accounting. Skill in researching, analyzing and evaluating complex financial data. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy. Detail oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to provide a high level of customer service and establish and maintain effective interdepartmental communications and relationships. Proficiency in various computer applications including comprehensive databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.

Plans, organizes, and coordinates the centralized accounting and financial reporting for assigned grant portfolio, including assisting with preparation of project budgets, and estimating any carry-over of funds from one year to the next. Researches issues, prepares invoices/ billings, and collects funds for the support of expenditures. Prepares or assists in the preparation of all applicable fiscal reports for sponsored programs and ensures the timely submission thereof. Coordinates with key personnel at all levels of the Tribe to support proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget deadlines. Develops positive working relationships to foster a collaborative environment for grant coordination and oversight. Compiles year-end reports, work papers, and analysis necessary for the Tribe's auditors. Maintains grant fiscal records and database. Reviews journal entries for program managers, assigns account codes, and monitors charges for reasonableness and compliance with Tribal policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

All new employees will serve a six-month probationary period to enable the General Manger to determine their suitability as a tribal employee. After the six-month probation the employee will be evaluated of his/her performance and at that time, it will be, decided if the employee is entitled to a regular employee status.
