Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Siletz Tribal Human Resources Department to obtain, develop and train the most important resource the Tribe has – human resources. This department will provide service to Tribal programs and employment applicants in an efficient, respectful and helpful manner. It will assist employees with skill development to ensure quality services to Tribal members and personal growth of Tribal employees.



Applications may be mailed, emailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to our office. 

Please note that applications at this time cannot be emailed through the CTSI website.  Applications may be emailed directly to the human resources email.  Applications must be complete and contain the applicant’s signature.    If you wish to apply for multiple positions with The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, please submit a new completed application for each position desired.

Incomplete applications, late applications, and resumes without an application will be returned.  CTSI requires that a Tribal application be completed.  Resumes will not be accepted in place of a completed application.

The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for gathering and verifying patient insurance information, and assisting patients in determining eligibility for benefits and services with Oregon Health Plan, Medicare, other third party insurance's, and Contract Health Services.

Associates Degree in health administration area or related field - OR - an equivalent combination of specialized experience and/or education. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled. Knowledge of: Insurance guidelines including Medicare, Medicaid and third party insurance. Experience in: Working with medical management information systems (MMIS), third-party insurance portals, Word, Excel, and related computer applications. Ability to: Work with a wide variety of people and able to communicate effectively to tribal and community members, staff, insurance companies as well as federal, state and local health agencies. Handle possible stressful situations involving explanation of insurance eligibility and benefits to patients with little or no knowledge of insurance practices. Plan, organizing work, and setting priorities to meet strict deadlines and fluctuating patient/client workloads. Meet and deal with the public. This includes the ability to establish positive interpersonal relations by exercising tact, diplomacy and mature judgment with a wide variety of individuals. Obtain information by asking pertinent questions, identify relevant facts, and determine complex issues. Demonstrate analytical skills. Demonstrate effective computer skills with specific knowledge of spreadsheet applications, data entry, and electronic transmission procedures. Other: Must be well organized and able to handle a large volume of work.

Check patient's eligibility and insurance benefits for all clinic services including medical, dental, optometry and behavioral health. Review demographic and insurance information in patient accounts in electronic medical record (EMR) and request patient updates/verification as needed. Scan assignment of benefits, verification of benefit information and financial liability into patient EMR. Summarize insurance information in patient accounts. Follow-up on workman's comp and automobile coverage.
Maintain accurate insurance in patient's EMR. Verifies daily insurance selection for each patient visit as needed. Verifies contract health eligible patients annual update status and request updates as needed. Verifies annual financial agreement and HIPAA and privacy notice is up to date and update as needed. Other duties as assigned.

All new employees will serve a six-month probationary period to enable the General Manger to determine their suitability as a tribal employee. After the six-month probation the employee will be evaluated of his/her performance and at that time it will be decided if the employee is entitled to a regular employee status.

Conditions of Employment:
