Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Siletz Tribal Human Resources Department to obtain, develop and train the most important resource the Tribe has – human resources. This department will provide service to Tribal programs and employment applicants in an efficient, respectful and helpful manner. It will assist employees with skill development to ensure quality services to Tribal members and personal growth of Tribal employees.

Please note that applications at this time cannot be emailed through the CTSI website.  Applications may be emailed directly to the human resources email.  Applications must be complete and contain the applicant’s signature.    If you wish to apply for multiple positions with The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, please submit a new completed application for each position desired.

Incomplete applications, late applications, and resumes without an application will be returned.  CTSI requires that a Tribal application be completed.  Resumes will not be accepted in place of a completed application.

The Medical Lab Technician provides general laboratory services with consultation to the medical staff at the Siletz Community Health Clinic.

High school diploma or GED and Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Assistant Certificate including competency in phlebotomy and one year experience providing relevant laboratory services - OR - an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Ability to: Communicate effectively and relate to tribal and community members, and other staff. Other: Successfully complete Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act (CLIA) required in-house training within first week of hire.

Maintain the laboratory's CLIA certification. Evaluates and selects reagents, and supplies, establishes and maintains inventory control systems, and manages resources effectively. Establishes and implements specimen collection and preparation procedures. Performs routine and specialized tests. Reports test results and consults with physicians on additional tests that may be useful or necessary to clarify problems. Conducts quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products by designing and implementing instrument, regent, and product check systems. Responds to external proficiency testing programs. Establishes a preventive maintenance program for all instruments. Calibrates or standardizes equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and makes simple repairs or identifies need for external services. Maintains a current procedural manual, reviewing and recommending revisions as needed. Researches, tests and implements new procedures and equipment. Designs appropriate forms. Ensures that safety practices, policies and procedures, are effectively followed. Trains and oversees medical assistant personnel to perform minimal assistance in the laboratory. Remains available to perform other duties within specialty or capabilities at the request of the supervisor.

All new employees will serve a six-month probationary period to enable the General Manger to determine their suitability as a tribal employee. After the six-month probation the employee will be evaluated of his/her performance and at that time it will be decided if the employee is entitled to a regular employee status.
