Requirements

Associates degree in Accounting -OR- equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience in: Computerized accounting systems and windows applications. Ability to: Use ten-key and other office equipment. Other: Must be able to occasionally work evenings and weekends. Must have an Oregon Driver’s License and be eligible to drive a GSA Vehicle.

Duties

Compiles and sort documents, checks, statements, etc. Verifies and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and totals accounts to sub-ledgers, computer spreadsheets and/or databases. Organizes and files all related investment documents, minor/adult trust documents, lease documents, and other Finance Officer related files. Reconciles investment statements; monthly. Maintain Minors’ and Adults’ Trust database to mirror Enrollment information. Answer inquiries on Minor and Adult Trust. Prepare check disbursement entries for Minor and Adult trust accounts to accurately record 1099 information; monthly. Prepare and pay tax deposits; as required. Prepare and mail Minor and Adult Trust statements annually, or as requested. Prepare and posts monthly journal entries for: investment accounts, leases, Minor and Adult Trust accounts. Communicate with financial institution(s) to: open bank accounts, maintain signatories of all bank and investment accounts, coordinate monthly drawdown of Minor and/or Adult trust accounts, and prepare annual distribution to minor and adult trust accounts. Assist Chief Finance Officer with lease data entry, review, and tracking. Prepares and maintains minutes of audit, investment committees. Prepares quarterly investment ledger. Prepare audit confirmation for all bank, investment, debt accounts, and legal departments; annually. Prepare investment roll forward schedules; annually. Assists with Internal Audits (Petty Cash and Fixed Assets). Assist Finance Officer with special projects. Other duties as assigned.

All new employees will serve a six-month probationary period to enable the General Manger to determine their suitability as a tribal employee. After the six-month probation the employee will be evaluated of his/her performance and at that time, it will be, decided if the employee is entitled to a regular employee status.

Conditions of Employment
